Knowing that you can find everyone and everything you need here at the House makes the prospect of creating content for a new product and site launch much less daunting. When member Alina was ready to show her new subscription tea club, Hello Tea, to the world, she turned to Housemate Francesca of Coco Prop Shop (and our resident photographer / content creator / glue). Kate of Solful Health was the perfect fit for the brand, targeted towards a confident, young, healthy female audience, and she stepped in to be the face of the club's first photo shoot. The result: a beautifully targeted set of images for Hello Tea's website, social media and email campaigns.
As anyone local who knows me can attest, I get pretty (very) excited when I hear that someone creative, fun, genuine and generally awesome is thinking about moving to Lake Worth. I have a spiel. I offer neighborhood tours and house-hunting assistance. Sometimes, I almost-beg. I believe in this town and what it has to offer, and know that its potential comes closer to being realized with every single person that moves here or sets up shop with the right community-minded motives. I also get that the future of our House depends on this growth.
When I first met Carl, he'd already moved down from New York - so I didn't have to bring my full campaign. I quickly realized he was just the kind of person our little town needs: creative, talented, determined, giving, caring, invested. He gives a damn and it shows. Carl became an advocate for our town in what seemed like a second, joining (then leading) his neighborhood association, volunteering his time and photography to local causes, meeting everyone he could and befriending them all. And at the House, he charmed us all with his kindness and generosity. "Be The Carl" became our mantra for the example he set, reminding us to walk the walk. Needless to say, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to share a little more about Carl and his story today.
Almost two years ago (has it really been two years?!) I received a reply to our House Manager position posting that was summed up with "Simply put, I love bringing people together and making things happen." If you know anything about Francesca, the gal behind the lifestyle photography company Coco Prop Shop, you also know that while much has changed for her and us since 2015, that description of her remains unchanged.
Watching and helping our members grow their businesses is by far the best part about what I do. Getting a front row seat during the process - and having that growth be so intertwined with our day-to-day ops at the House - has been especially enjoyable. From shoots to collaborations and everything in between, Frankie (as we can't help but call her - sorry, Franks!) has achieved what she so whole-heartedly jumped in to do two years ago. She's our glue. I couldn't pass up the chance to interview her myself for her Small Biz Story, and enjoy a little time spent reminiscing about her journey.
Big thanks to Comcapphoto for the shots!
We’re looking for a hard-working, hands-on, people-person type go-getter to join our team on a part-time, occasional basis. Our newest rockstar on staff will be assisting during catered events and covering shifts when needed to hold down the House.
Big news! We've acquired a sweet little historic cottage that's literally just steps from our House and will be opening it up for more creative community goodness.
We're still deciding (and looking for input on) the best way to design out and split the space; here are some ideas and possibilities:
- One big + beautiful team office, fitting up to 4 desks, with windows on 3 sides
- One medium-sized and more private windowed office that would fit 1 or 2
- Shared photo/video studio area perfect for food or product shoots and small set photography
- A small non-windowed room that would be great as either a voice recording studio or storage
- Main room with all kinds of fun and cozy details (fireplace, tons of big windows with original casings) that works as shared flex space - desks, create space, art studio, yoga studio, workshops
- Sweet little kitchenette we'll remodel to use for photo shoots (and prepping lunch!)
- Back garden with all kinds of potential for growing herbs, outdoor classes and workshops, and lunch al fresco
- Parking! It has four spots.
We're hoping to curate the perfect mix of creatives for this cottage. Think it could be a fit for your business? Please email us to be added to our interest list - we're taking requests now and would love to hear your input. If you've always dreamed of having a cozy little cottage home for your creative business, here's your chance. Join us!
